The biotechnology control systems area has been developed by PID Eng&Tech since 1995 in co-operation with Biosafety (actually Bioprocess Technology) and it has been applied in the implementation of pilot plants in the well-known companies.


PID Eng&Tech controls these fermenters by means of the latest technology. Their applications are: pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food, veterinary, agricultural, etc. The main features of PID Eng&Tech's bioreactor process control systems are flexibility for process optimization and scale-up potential. The reproducibility and reliability of the fermentation process increases on the basis of our know-how about the process control technologies.

Custom industrial bioprocessing systems for pilot and production operations from 20 to 15.000 L are made of SS 316, from 2 to 20 L are made of glass.

The plenty of experience of PID Eng&Tech in control systems for fermentation process allows Bioprocess Technology to design fermenters easy for cleaning, operating, perfect sterility maintenance, flexibility and high process control.

Computerized control system, developed by PID Eng&Tech, uses RS-485 digital communication for computer supervised operations. At present, PID Eng&Tech develops a MODBUS system for supervised remote control via the Ethernet, which includes TFT "tactile system" for an easy operation interface with the user.

PID Eng&Tech and Bioprocess Technology use the highest-quality components (MFC, membrane valves, probes, seals) made by the most reputable manufacturers, which ensures a high degree of reliability.

Agitation 800 rpm servocontrolled
pH controlled by means of acid and base pumps, on/off or proportional control, or by means of CO2 gas flow
Dissolved oxygen controlled by means of air supply using Mass Flow Controllers and/or stirred control
Temperature controlled by means of heat and cooling, on/off or proportional control
Foam controlled by means of pumps
All the controllers we use are PID (Proportional Integral Derivative).
Friendly user interface based on TFT tactile display and remote control software via Ethernet (TCP/IP), as well as RS-485 digital communications.
Our control systems can be configured, depending on customer's needs (Mass Flow Controllers setting, sterilization status, feed control, etc).
